Without the Hilux for a week

Postby camwill69 on Wed, 23 Jan 2008 3:47 +0000

Well I had a bad day. Parked at work at 6.30am and went in to get things started for the day and came back out at 7am to find the rear passengers side window smashed.

Lap Top, Camera, UHF and GPS all gone. Then to find out that personal items are not covered by insurance really made my day.

So the car is at the repairer already and will have it back next week. When they (The Scum) broke in they must have used a screw driver to jimmied the window down before it smashed, so the top door sill is all bent and the rubber is cut. Also when they pushed the glass (tinted) in it all fell on the top of the door card and gouged it all. Then fell on the seat and cut the seat cover and seat.

NOT HAPPY JAN.

No Shane. I run a Uniden hand held as I use it for work as well. Got it for Xmas so it's nice and new for the scum. GPS and lap top have pass words and I leave the cord and mouse at work, they will have fun trying to use them.

Flashback...

New Years Day last year, druggies broke the drivers window and went to town. Threw a brick thorough the window and scratched all the plastic up on the drivers and passengers doors.
They got my GPS from under the passenger seat. Camera and iPod from the bins under the rear seat. Then my wallet and phone from the glove box.
Great day. Drove home with no window catching chunks of glass on me, courtesy of the tinted window.
Insurance excess? $500. New tinted window? $470.
6 months later some lady found all my cards from my wallet and sent them to me. They were nicely covered in blood.
Only problem now? One tiny rattly little piece of glass that rattles in the door, sometimes. And I have done everything short of taking the door off and turning it upside down...

Be nice to set them up, leave a few $100 notes on your dash and be in waiting with baseball bats  Then feed them to the sharks.
But that probably to good for them...makes me sick bring back the electric chair and get rid of them for good

We have kids up at the local shops that throw bricks through the side windows to get loose change out of coin trays etc. The cops cant do anything as they are underage! You can watch them going from car to car looking in. They are as young as 9. Break a $400 window to get a few bucks in change.
Hearing stories like yours makes me angry. Been lucky enough not to have any problems like that yet.

We have similar problems up here in Darwin... except they are not that worried about not being seen... Last week we had a bunch of kids stop a car on the street then proceed to deat the guy up in front of his girl friend before stealling his wallet from his pants whilst he was down... what is the world comming too... the guy was stabbed and nearly had his ear cut off.... would like to see them try that shite with me.... anyway... sorry to hear about your delemia Cam.. try your home contents insurance... they may not cover everything... but you should be able to get some of it back... Cheers TOMUCH

my garmin GPS is code locked, so has to be sent back to garmin (device registered to me via serial/number) to unlock it if they dont know the pin.

have a GarminGPS lock Sticker on the windscreen aswell, so hopefully the low lifes wont bother, but its bound to happen one day.

Which insurance company where you with that didn't cover it personal items?

Danlux.. That looks way to painless to me.
For anyone who has seen the movie Sin City, the way Marv kills Kevin would be a much better end to scums lives.

Gee you guys are harsh.
The poor little possums should be given some of the confiscated dope customs has and a hand full of needles. Then told to go party. Should be a one night party. No more problem and not so messy.
IMHO
I do feel for you Cam, we had our dog baited last year. All I wanted to do was give the same bait to the AH who gutlessly did it.

Jsmith81. You are one sick prick. Not appropriate here mate. Get rid of it.

Everyone else, thanks for your kind words, they are much appreciated and have cheered me up somewhat.

Hiluxdan, I'm ready. Come on over and we'll go hunt them like the vermin that they are.

Cheers,
