I think mine is still a bit off. Going to take it to another alignment place, cause the guy at the last place couldn't understand anything I was saying (or just didn't care).

We're you able to get yours at zero? In my research I hadn't found anyone saying anything about not getting the camber back....

latest update is a sweeet one... Did up a custom bumper modeled after the xrox :D Have some small adjustments to be made with the lightforce 140 foglights, but it looks great. In addition to the 140's i have a set of 240 xgt's on there that i got used out of the U.S. for a steal of a deal. We will accommodate a winch later on with some modification and extra bracing by utilizing the original bumper mounts. ATM we are mounted up by the tow points only. I will not put any stress on the fabricated tow points until then.

For now i am ecstatic!

Initial fabrication by the welder on a tacoma (after measuring up my truck)
Image

The profile after altering first mock-up, this sticks out 6.5 inches rather than 11 inches as it was at first
Image

Image

Top hoop all set. Initially it started way to far back and angled straight up. We gave it a forward angle and made it taller to allow adjustment of the 240's.
Image

Primer, putty, wetsand, repeat, paint!
Image

Image

I'm IN LOVE with the finished product!

Went on a 4x4 outing with 3 Jeep's, 2 FJ40's, an Amarock, Ridgeline, and a LR defender 110.

Great day across the south coast of Jamaica from Kingston into Mandeville. We played around in an area known as the Beltline; where the bauxite mines and refineries are located. Did some fun hill climbs before venturing into a little section of red dirt where we managed to challenge all the vehicles and ended up breaking the drive shaft on one of the FJ's then soon after had a transfer box explode on the second FJ40. All the carnage happened on a close to 45degree incline on soft, loose, red clay.

My lux performed well and didn't get hung up on anything (i was expecting the rear bumper to drag a little).

My latest update includes some photos from a drive up to a little place called Cinchona; and what my next plans are for the rig.

Firstly the truck:
Thanks to advice from some of the outstanding folks on this forum such as mmaaxx, i will be re-gearing to 4.30 ratio in the diffs to get back some missing performance since putting on the wheels. I've also decided that if i'm going to go through the trouble of re-gearing we may as well put in lockers. Initially i wanted a rear locker only; but as i said it makes sense to do the lockers if i am opening up the diff. 4.3's are almost impossible to find aftermarket for a reasonable cost, so i will be getting a used front 3rd from the states. The 4Runners from about '89 to '95 came with 4.3's stock and i have found some already in the U.S., so that will be the first purchase. Then will come the bearing kits if needed after inspection, and finally the lockers!

I already have onboard air, so the fittings and regulator are on the way. I think i have a unique idea for the regulator i will use, and how i will keep the pressure below 110 psi for the arb lockers while maintaining 150psi for the rest of my OBA system. Detailed writeup and photos will come when relocate my tank and do all the plumbing ;)

Now for some photos from the weekend!

Lockers and 4.3's are in. Did the front myself yesterday. A bitch load of work for one person in one day to do for the first time!

The truck drives as it should and i don't have to downshift all the time. Very happy with the gearing!

I'll post some pics later...

Happy new year to all!

Well folks... A top mount intercooler from an 08 hilux has been ordered. Looking at doing a chipit and maybe exhaust down the line.
The lockers and new gears i put in a few months ago have been holding up just great. I did have a leaking pinion seal in the rear diff, but sorted that out a few weeks ago.

I need to post some pics soon. Will be doing a little excursion to a dried out river bed. This is the perfect time of year for it!

Also looking at building a tube rear bumper. The welder doing the work has been away though so not sure when that will ever get done.

G'Day folks!
I finally have my intercooler in hand and did t test fitting yesterday... Looks like i need one more hose and coupling set to make it all work; so another 3 weeks until I install. Special thanks to Paradise Auto Parts Australia for shipping to me after my consistent begging. I'll be doing up the bracketry to support the IC today... Some pics from the mockup in the meantime are below....
