She looks good on the tracks Jack!!
You gonna mod that tow bar? Lift it or move it back? Kind of ruins ya departure angle a bit considering you have the short tray...

Yes i think i will get the tow bar modded to lift it up higher, than get a tow ball to suit it (one of the ones that has a big angle for higher bars). I cant really move it in anymore otherwise the spare wont fit. My spare already touches the bar as it is....
Although i might just decide to take it off full stop!

I done some painting wednesday and thursday on my front grill and bud's guards (bash and engine).
I painted the grill whit (which is supposed to be the same colour matched to the lux), and the guards a flat black.... I was going to paint the 'in-fill' that sits between the lights and bar, but pretty sure this wont be used when i get either the xrox or buddy bar, so i am not too fussed about it for now, also when the bar is ready ill be getting some angle headlights from MR so hopefully the colour of grill will look alright? If not than i might have to paint it a gloss black? Also after seeing 'tunnel rats' lux with all the badges painted black, i didnt think this looked too bad, might give it a go..

With the guards, i had some Rust Guard in flat black, so decided to hit the guards with that..

You've done a good job mate. I cannot wait to see the new bar on the truck though, I think it will transform it.

Good to see you didn't clean off the Bud's Customs extra sticky, sticky tape residue. I hear it adds an extra 20% in strength...

Oh dont get me started on that sticky tape, i had a bitch of a time when i first got the guard getting it off, i got fed up with it and just chucked them on. Than when i painted them i was going to attack it again, but just thought 'whats the use'....

So does everyone think the 'white' grill looks alright? Or should i change it too black?

Na man keep it white, i had my grill color coded to and like it heaps more!!

I used a bit of "ripper" on some things a had some heavy sticky tape residue and it got it off with no dramas. i was sitting htere with boiling water, soap etc and nothing worked. As soon ad a applied the ripper it wiped off as easy as spreading butter ;)

Definitely better colour coded, Jack. When I painted mine I masked up the plastic mesh behind the Toyota badge etc, to keep it black and add a bit of contrast.

Re: Jack's Lux-BUDDY or XROX

Postby Jack S on Fri, 15 Apr 2011 9:50 +0000

Right oh boys and girls, it has come to the time of changing my bullbar! None the less iam very disapointed to see the toyota breaker bar go

So my two options are:
*** Buddy Bar with centre hoop
OR
*** Xrox Bar with the wings infilled

I have already chatted to a few members about this but i thought i would throw it out publically to see what everyone else reakons would SUIT my hilux better, looking at the way i am going with it etc...
Yes its my lux and my decision, i am swaying one way more than the other but just wanted to see others opinions!!
So please tell me what you think (on the bullbar topic that it) :D
