Right oh than, just a small update, after getting the new tyres i noticed that my speedo was out, close to 10km out, so had to get a speedo correction unit, got this from Marks Adaptors,
http://www.marks4wd.com/cost me $202 delivered and turned up the next day after i ordered it.
Also wanted to say thanks heaps to Max on this one as he helped me out a shit load with the wiring and how to go by it all
Anyway pretty clear and straight forward instructions included but heres a write up anyway:
So heres the plug that we are looking for on the,
Theres a 3 wire connector that is attached to it,
Now click on the following link which is an engine wiring diagram,
http://www.vehiclemods.net.au/docs/manu ... YS003.htmlGo to the very far right hand side and you will see the Combination Meter, on the very bottom right hand side of the combination meter you will see a PINK wire with a BLUE trace exiting the Combination Meter to the speed sensor.
See the Speed Sensor how it has 3 wires....study them closely and I'll explain to you.
If you follow the BROWN wire you'll see that it goes to ground/earth/negative.
If you follow the RED with BLACK Trace wire you'll see that it goes to a 10AMP fuse and Ignition...this is the positive wire.
Therefore your SIGNAL WIRE is the PINK wire with BLUE Trace on it.
Now disconnect your negative off the battery as you dont want to accidently set off fault codes or something else.....
Remove the plug off the transfer case/speedo pickup connector and and look at the wires coming off the back of this plug...they should be the same as the ones I mentioned above.
Now remove your combination meter and look for the Signal Wire, it should be there amongst the pile/spaghetti of wires. Carefully clear it and the wires around it so you have some room to work with and connect the signal wire.
I suggest you do everything /connecting as a "draft" with everything exposed to make sure it all works when connected...if and when it does, then dis connect it and run the wiring through the dash and hide the speedo ratio box in its position.
Make sure you get a good earth and try and use an accessory wire so the speedo ratio box works only when the key is on the accessory position not powered up constantly.
Heres a pic of the plug and how i joined it, just connected the wires and covered in bit of heat shrink,
Where i connected to the Combination Meter,
And the earth thats behind the everything,
Also a pic of part of the table they give you to get the correct ratio, i went with row that says'33" tyres', ratio of 1.07,
This ratio is pretty much spot on when i tested it against me GPS.
Next was mounting the unit itself, i fixed it on the right hand side near the aceleration pedal, but up out of the way so i dont hit it when i am driving....
