Absolutely life saving, the amount of times iv lost my shit over that beep. Simple 2 minute job and i fail to see how it would affect the airbag

The quickest and easiest way by far to disconnect your key in ignition alarm is take a 10mm socket and have your key beeping and undo the bolt in the black stopper in your door until the beeping stops, took me 3 1/2 full turns that easy!

Does that mean the interior light won't turn on?

id like to add my 2 cents worth re beeper
when researching some wiring diagrams i thought that the beeper sensor in key ignition actually is connected to airbag circuit . so dont cut the wire as some have suggested
thus i left it connected and just removed the beeper in back of dash cluster, there is a small beeper you can unclip / prize top and remove inside working(speaker) and put aside if you ever want to replace it and leaves circuit intact.
i also used this circuit to trigger my power window relay so as long as key is in ignition i can use powerwindows with no ACC on

I just did mod. Only i installed a switch in the wire, so i can disconnect when i need to and leave 'standard' at all other times.
