Hi everyone, I just got my genuine canopy fitted and thought I might share some photos for you to look at.

The new canopy is made by EGR same as the old one and comes with central locking. Also the front window is now a fold down type making window cleaning much easier.

Looks nice and sleek. Probably not suitable for a roof top tent on a sturdy rack though.

$$$ ?

One question that no dealer will answer me is how secure is the tray contents when there's no lock on the tail gate. Seems a couple of jerks on the tail gate overcomes the locked overlapping rear canopy window. It does on the old ARB ones at least. :(

That looks great! I'm still waiting on mine to arrive. No canopy or tub liner until January!

Do you have any pics with the canopy windows open?

Cheers

Igor

There is an internal support kit available which includes 2 bars on top similar to Rhino Racks. Alternatively you can get a full rack from Tradesman that bolts on in lieu of the bars. I'm not sure if it's released yet though but it definitely was available for the older model.
Price was $3215 for the canopy and another $1161 for the central locking kit.

All windows include a switch that automatically turns on the lamp. It also registers as a door open in the vehicle. This will stop the car from auto locking if you don't open a car door.

Thanks Adam. I must admit those locking brackets for the windows look solid.

Thanks for the extra pics.

Shame the new canopy's didn't have sliding windows. My dog's going to loose out on all that wind in the face.

Adam,

In the process of pricing/purchasing a 2016 SR5 Dualcab in similar spec to yours. Your Aux battery/Canopy posts seem to indicate you have good knowledge of available accessories, their specifications & part numbers ect... Do you have a list or know how we can access a comprehensive list of whats available, its spec's (like load ratings of the canopies, etc.,) so I can head off to the dealer from an informed position?

Thank's ahead of time for any info you can provide and no drama's if you can't.

Jarrad

I believe you can still get sliding windows.

The sliding windows are available on the sr model but for some reason they wouldn't put it on the sr5. Not sure if the tubs are any different. For the sr you have pop out or as above or one pop out and one as above. That's what I was told by the dealership... I tried arguing then gave up cos might just be easier to modifier later. The canopies themselves look different between the sr and sr5.

I tried to get a kerbside lift open and drivers side sliding, it wasn't an option. I ended up with a pop out window on drivers side, Im hoping that will be enough circulation for the dog.

What's the metallic C shaped looking sticker on the windows, yours has wires go to it, mine doesn't. Is it a part of the central locking?

I had a look, it appears to be some kind of locating tab so you can line up the bracket when gluing to the glass.

Hi again,

had my canopy fitted today. Noticed that on the pics above they only used the clamps. For some reason the toyota guys i went to in Perth decided they would use additional clips which they drilled into the tub where the clamps go... i guess it won't fly off.

Also wanted to ask whether you kept your sports bar? These guys tried to talk me out of taking it home...and made up some excuse they already stored it for me at their warehouse. so now i have to go back and pick it up as i'm making them put it aside for me.

..i'll get a thread going of my ute once a few more things are done. sorry for hijacking the thread :).

cheers

Igor

The big thing missing on these canopies is a rear demister.
