I have seen a bit of feedback around that started with a comment on a Landcruiser diesel adaptor mod called a Filter Mate, which allows the use of a Z9 type oil filter instead of OEM. Obviously cost is the driver here. There is also some comment at http://www.exploroz.com/Forum/Topic/29422/Ad_for_Filter_Mate.aspx
Has anyone examined this concept?

Why bother if a genuine filter is only $14.50. What can you buy a z9 for? About $9 tops. Would not touch an adapter as is only another thing that could go wrong/ come undone etc.
