Has anyone fitted the Ultimate Suspension to their Lux. I have standard suspension and dont carry any load and mine rides terribly rough. I am looking for something that will be more comfortable to ride on, not necessarily a lift. Maybe there is no such thing as comfort in a dualcab ute.

There's a few blokes here with the ultimate lift kit fitted and their rides look pretty nice but i think u'll find thats probably all its going to do, make u look good and its an expensive exercise in looking good.

Most of even the hardcore players on the dirt round here seem quite happy and satisfied with only a 2 inch lift. a fair few like the ride quality of the Old man Emu brand from ARB and that would be around the 1800-2000 dollar mark fully fitted and wheel alignment.

With a little shopping around tho im sure u can achieve a 2 inch lift or even just a more smoother ride from other brands and at a cheaper price if u are limited by whats in your pockets. im sure ride comfort can be easily achieved

5 bags of 40kg concrete mix sitting up next to the tailgate will give you a great ride!

there a 3 people living near me that have had OME suspension done by ARB and have had to return it to be replaced because it has sagged. one person has had it done twice. They all said the trucks ride was a heap better than standard though. I am looking for a no problems fix hopefully, cant stand problems.

Tonym,

I've read about a few members here who have the problems you mentioned with OME suspension.

Whereas other members have had no issues with their OME suspension.

I hear good things about Ridepro springs together with Bilstein dampers.

I also think Kings springs are quite good.

My personal choice would be Kings coils with Bilstein dampers if I can find the moolah!

Tony,

I have The Ultimate Suspension Lift Kit. So far I am very happy with this kit. This kit offers a genuine 3.5-4" kift kit, which has not sagged after 30'000km+
Having said this I have no bullbar or dual battery.

All depends on what you are after I guess.

Prior to this kit I had the Tough Dog kit, which was also excellent. This gave a 45mm lift after about 25'000kms, 52mm to start.

The Ultimate kit ain't cheap, but it is a well engineered product, with unbeatable after market service. I have nothing but praise for Ken and the boys down there. I believe they have some ore bits to give a 5" lift available soon too!

This kit is easy to engineer and rides great. I have medium duty leaf springs in the rear which ride a bit harsh when empty, no worse than standard Toyota suspension though! The front rides great, a lot less front pitch under heavy braking, and less body roll. With a normal load of tools in the back the ride is great.

If you want 3"+ of lift, this is the only real option other than a solid front axle swap ($10'000)

If you don't need 3" and just want a better ride, you have many options, the Tough Dog are good, my mate has the Macquarie 4x4 Bilstein set up and that is pretty good too.

Hope this helps!
Cheers
Matt

Thanks for the help everyone. I dont need lift all I want is comfort. If I get a small amount of lift thats no problem as I dont carry any loads except my 2 dogs in the back and the missus in the front. Have I got that right?? I have spoken to a number of people with the OME who have not had any problems and some that have had trouble and all I have heard about the Ultimate Suspension has been praise, thats why I thought to give it a go.

One word of advice, if you do your shopping around do it at specialized 4x4 shops. I did my 06 dually at a local suspension shop cos he was $260 cheaper than ARB and came highly recommended(for cars).
It's back in today for about the 4th time after 2000km getting new coils & leafs allround. Still not convinced it will fix it though. Wish I had've just spent the extra and be done with it at arb.

Hi, I have an 08 SR5, and was looking at getting a ROX 2" suspension lift. Has anyone heard of this "ROX" brand??

Hi mates,
i was searching for a combination of suspension upgrades to get more height and comfort... and i want variable heights for different conditions... so i think about these :
1- 50mm Block Kits for rear
2- Rancho RS9000XL Shock Absorbers for rear (says it has an external 9-position (finger tuned) ride-adjustment knob and There is around 400% difference between the softest and firmest setting.
3- 35mm Billet Strut Spacers
4- Bilstein 5100 Series height-adjustable struts they can be lifted from 0 to 2 inches ( so i can get 2inches +35mm from spacers when i want)

whats your opinion about them and do i need extended brake lines, long travel control arms and diff drop kit to add in the combination???

tnx

Mate, strut spacers and block kits are the devil  don't waste your time. Sounds like you want good quality stuff under your truck by the list you provided (except for the blocks and spacers). Do it right the first time and use Ultimate Suspension or Monster Rides. Both top shelf products with excellent after sales support. Both Ultimate and MR can do almost any height you like and the MR front struts are adjustable in height from anywhere between 0-6" if you so desire. Most run about 3-3.5".

I had my car at Ultimate the other day. Got new struts put in and the rear leaf pack adjusted. Once again very good service and Brendan looked after me with the price as well. He also dropped me off and picked me up from the station. You can't go wrong there.

Cheers,

Chris.

As Dave mentioned Ultimate done my truck yesterday and I highly recommend them 100%.Just tell the guys there what you want and they will set it up to your requirements. There warranty and after service is great to and everything they build can rebuilt later on if required. They do look after forum members with a discount and if you get prices else where and let them know and maybe they can match it.My truck has Kings HHD springs and Ultimates struts and shocks because I wanted a bit of lift and heavy duty combo, just need to get in touch with Matty at Monster Rides and order some drop diff brackets. And you can't beat the 1 inch stems at the base of their struts.Great to meet you today Dave.
