when I checked with Snake racing about getting some strut spacers for my 07, they said...just as long as there has been no major increase in front weight. Since I have dual batts & winch bar, I didn't proceed with that idea for an inexpensive lift

Jcarter, Yes i have the 265/75/16 and the do stick out a little and I should have flares for the stones that flick up, but not a priority at present! I am with suncorp insurance and the policy I have has the mods all listed- I just ring and tell them what I have added and they reissue an updated certificate.

my 12months rego/thirdparty and stuff is up at the end of feb so i am looking around atm for insurance etc.
with RACQ atm which is all fine an dandy, but they are expensive and from what i have read not so keen on modified vehicles.

I can i can switch to suncurp for the same as what i am paying now, so if they will cover the mods sounds like the go as i do bank with them.

i was wondering as i only got app 30mm lift from my ome set up could i just use 25mm spacers to bring it up or would that equate to too much lift.

Ditto to krusty1 question. I have about 38mm from my OME replacement setup, so with the spacers another 50mm should be OK I would have thought. But I do have some concern about the new CV angles. How has those with spacers fitted found them?

Cheers

The cv angles with no lift should not be too severe not sure about with a lift and spacers- need to chat with someone who is not biased (not wanting to sell you anything) and with that knowledge.

Cheers for the reply troyco. Needs a little more investigation I think.

I did send snake racing an email last night as well to see what their thoughts were.

I sent the following question:
<snip>
I am interested in the strut spacers and extended shackles to give me some additional lift for ground clearance. However I was wondering if they are compatable with Old Man Emu suspensionn components? Also I am running a dual battery setup, ARB winch bar and winch with side steps, scrub rails and long range tank, so will the spacers cope with the extra weight over a standard Hilux?
<snip>

Here is a copy of the text from the email reply:

<snip>
Yes the components are engineered way over what the factory units are.

What height is the truck now over standard ?

Personaly i would go th 25mm coil strut spacer and shackles if the truck has
at least 45mm lift now.
<snip>

So I have responded with a question on CV angles and await the reply.

Excellent response time to emailed question, I sent at midnight and response returned at 9:20am next morning.

Cheers

Yeh to add speculation - I am pretty sure (90%) that they aren't legal (i had them on my old ute) something to do with increasing the sideway stress on the leaf spring on cornering etc..

Troyco, I am going to fit some 25mm SR spacers over the weekend. I have no instructions so any help will be greatfully received.

Macca01, did you get the extended shackles in the end as well? Please let me know how the install goes and what you think about it all. Im considering the same install but not too sure whether it will be too high, therfore to much CV angle...
Cheers mate,

Jep, only got the spacers, they are fantastic 25mm spacer gave me 45mm lift, Ive measured half a dozen times, can't believe it.
The side rails are level and it looks a agressive as mmaaxx's. Well to me it does 8-) 8-) 8-) gotta paint the rims black.
I think I am +63 over stock at the front, fantastic
