Riley, search is your best friend here, as here's a thread pretty much on exactly what you need.

Thread merged.

Hi All,

I am currently facing the same "sagging" dilemma in my 2012 SR5.

I'm a newbie on the site and just came across this thread and was hoping given I'm over a year later, the answers will be a lot clearer now with the different setups being tried and tested.

I have an OME strut (front 90002) and coil setup (2885) which is the standard ARB 2" lift kit.ciI've got a very weighted front end with ARB winch bar, winch, dual batteries. Since installation (18 months and 40ks ago) the front end has sagged by 25-30mm giving a mere 1.5inch lift. My measurements from the bottom of the rim to guard are currently L760mm and R755mm. When lift was installed it was 785mm on both sides. I do not carry much weight in the back at all on a day-to-day basis and only when I am out touring or camping there will be about 200kgs in the back.

I have taken the vehicle back to ARB who have acknowledged the sag but claim it is with normal "tolerance levels". The vehicle does Feel a bit shup like especially on beach driving when encountering those tidal humps on the hard sand.

Based on research i am considering the kings KTFR-101HHD which are rated 800lb vs the OME 2885 at 590lb as a replacement cool but would like to still keep the OME strut (90002) as I can't really justify spending money on new billies in the front for an 18 month old strut. Question is can I run the King and OME combo? Is someone running this combo and will it suit?

Cheers,
Sam

Yep I running the kings and ome... its a good setup!
Although arb springs have copped a bad wrap on our forum the arb sockies are good kit I have had them on the front of my rig for 5+ years.... and they have taken a beating!

I gained 3" in the front with the 101 H and bilsteins. I've since put a dual battery setup and 285/75/16 km2 muddies on. I think he springs are a bit too soft tho especially when I'm running under 20psi in the front tyre u get a lot of bouncing and scrubbing. Going to go back into the suspension joint and look at options. Maybe a stiffer spring or small cab lift. Other than that it's really nice to drive.

From bottom of rim to guard its 812 passenger 815 driver that's with 150 prado 17inch rims. Time for diff drop cvs are on hell of an angle. Front is now level with rear running ome 400kg constant leafs.

G'day Griffo,

Had the exact same dilemma as yourself and just ordered a set of HHDs to fit to my OME struts. After doing 40ks on the OME 2885 coils, sag went from RHS785mm LHS783mm to RHS765mm LHS 760mm. In terms of shoes, im running BFG AT 265/70 R17.

Is the diff drop essential with the OME strut King 101HHD combo? Given you are running the combo for a while now, how has it performed both in holding up the truck as well as performance off road?

Cheers,
Sam

Does anyone know what is the difference in height when using 5100's vs b6 bilsteins? i've been reading on here that people are using the hhd spring on the lowest groove of the 5100 and getting approx 55mm lift. I am about to do my suspension through fulcrum and their kit is efs leafs in the rear and b6 billies all round on king hd springs. I'm thinking of going king toy-092 in the rear with b6 billies and the front getting the superpro uca, swaybar relocator,b6 billies and hhd king springs on lowest setting. What do you guys think? Or should I just stick to their standard kit? I want to run 275/70r17 tyres and standard sr5 rim. I don't carry a lot of weight in the rear, it's usually empty and when I do go camping etc I'd probably have about 150-200kg in the tub. the front I have arb steel bullbar and warn zeon10-s winch. I will be installing a second battery in the engine bay soon. Also have arb side steps and rear step tow bar.

I have a 2010 SR5 D4D with 15 inch wheels.
It has an ARB bull bar with Runva 11 xp winch and dual batteries.
I have put bilsteins on the top groove with King Spring KTFR101HD's.
My measurements are from the bottom of the rim to the guard 760mm and 655mm.
For your info dv8

Cheers 80scruiser , so you got around 44-45 mm lift then? I've got 17's on and my measurements before the front bar and winch went on are:

FL - 742 bottom lip of rim to flare
- 508 wheel centre to flare
FR - 742 bottom lip of rim to flare
- 508 wheel centre to flare
RL - 806 bottom lip of rim to flare
- 575 wheel centre to flare
RR - 796 bottom lip of rim to flare
- 565 wheel centre to flare
The front end dropped about 20mm after the front bar and winch went on (ARB bar and warn zeon 10-s)

Cars in at fulcrums right now getting the suspension done.......eager to see where it ends up. HHD spring going on bottom groove of b6 billies. They said if it comes up too much we might have to go back to a hd spring but we'll see. I'll post up the figures when it comes back and also after the suspension settles in a few weeks so others may use the info.

Ok, heights after the suspension went in this morning are as follows. I've averaged left to right hand side as they're within a couple of mill.

FRONT: 808 from bottom of rim lip(underside) to underside of flare
576 from wheel centre to underside of flare

REAR : 854 from bottom of rim lip(underside) to underside of flare
618 from wheel centre to underside of flare

So therefore with bilstein b6 struts with circlip on bottom groove and king hhd springs i got 66mm lift in the front with bar and winch on (over std ride height without bar and winch.) In the rear I got 53mm lift using the efs 200kg springs and bilstein b6 shockies. Thats with arb rear bar on.

I will re measure in a few weeks after it all settles in and see where it ends up.

Hopefully this info will help out the next guy who wants to do this.

Happy wheelin guys 8-)

Hey guys,

I previously ran the OME 2885 springs in the front with all the fruit up front and had sagging issues in only 12 months. After reading this thread I decided to fit the Kings 101HHD over the OME strut and what a difference! Measurements are as follows, I have the 17 inch standard SR5 wheels with 265/70/17R:

Bottom of rim to guard.

New Veh - FL 735mm FR 737mm
OME just fitted - FL 775mm FR 777mm
OME after sag - FL 760mm FR 761mm
Kings 101HHD - FL 788mm FR 791mm

So all in all with the Kings just a fraction over a true 2" lift which I'm really happy with. The CV's are still within safe range and still has the front to rear rake (good for when loaded tray and towing camper) sits level. In the rear I'm running the 400kg constant load OME leafs. Handles like an etntire different vehicle. I have a fair amount of weight over the front with about 650kg on each front corner so these springs are they way to go.

Hope this helps anyone else planning to do the same!

Just a quick question on the 5100s just ordered a set from USA and looking at putting kings on them. If I put 101hd on them what height setting would I put them at to get a 3inch lift? no bullbar or anything just got dual batteries
