Hey guys just a quick question realting to this old post. In the Pic supplied it was for fittment of bigger wheels on the TRD Lux.

Some said this didnt relate as unless you hada TRD Lux it wouldnt apply.

However i wanted to know as Toyota have just released there Saftey Upgrade to their current SR5 Hilux's and as they are also 2010 build and have 17" alloys as standard, could if available, a lable from one of these new 2010 Hilux's with 17" alloys be affixed to an earlier model 2010 Hilux as i doubt it would be labelled any different as its still a standard SR5 Hilux. Ie it would still be a 2010 SR5 Hilux.

Max from your sources are you able to obtain the part number for this new label?

As i have a 2010 build SR5 hilux i thought it may be worth a look in before getting an additional set of Mudder tyres and rims.

Also thanks for your thoughts in genearl guys as this would benifit alot of guys in here with a 2010 build Hilux that only had the 15 wheels fitted standard.

Ben.

Hey all,

I'm currently in the process of getting the 31's on my SR5 engineered in Sydney. After ringing round the engineers noted in VSI 15 I found that all require a speedo claibration report. With my GPS showing that my speedo was over reading by about 1% I thought no issue however after the inspection they went on to tell me that while the speedo is OK the odometer is now running 6.5% out and doesn't comply with ADR 18.

Solution - the company that completed the inspection told me they could install an electronic ratio box behind the dials that would correct the issue. $350.00, 1hrs work and all completed. To go to bigger tyres in the future would just require the re-setting of the ratio box they just installed.

Next stop the engineer and another $400.00

Will be interested to see how it goes. I think it is the same one I spoke to. He sounds ok to deal with
On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

All went well, no issues at all. John's a top bloke and very well informed on what can and cannot be engineered.

One thing he did tell me is that it is no longer a requirement for vehicles to have a tyre placard and though he has now signed off on larger tyres he cannot change the Toyota placard. This is the complete opposite to what happended when I had a Disco engineered a few years back. Back then the engineer sent me a new tyre placard with the engineering papers :?

Name of the business is Consulmotive. Ph: 02 91530011, Website: consulmotive.com.au

As for costs, each vehicle will differ but mine to date has cost me $750.00

$350 to correct the odometer
$400 for the engineer to sign off on the tyres and the OME suspension

Just the cost of the Blue Slip to follow.
