I've had OME suspension fitted 2" lift hopefully. I'm going to fit white steel rims 16X7 with 265/70-16 tires. I've spoken with a few different people about tire sizes with the lift. Some say 265/75-16 no problem & other say they will rub on the flap. Did you take measurements of lift after it was fitted?
Most suspension will drop a little from initial installation... but if this is excessive..I would take it back to the installer and get it fixed...nice rims though....
I have seen in nov? 4wd Monthly , 2 in lift kit with 17 inch rims 265/75/17s on it . I spoke to the owner and he said that he ahd no problems with any rubbing . Who do you believe ?
"Naked man walking through airport door sideways is going to Bangkok."
I've had new springs fitted last week the old ones were only 6 weeks old they sagged 25mm can you believe that! i would find it had to believe that 285/75/r17 would'nt rub
I think the offset and maybe a 8" rim might be why they rub. Are they rubbing on the firewall on full lock or on the bottom of the guard when compressed up?
yes that is where the mudflap screws on. If the tyre is hitting there on full lock then the off set is probably wrong combined with an extra 1" of rim width and a taller and wider tyre. JMHO
Just got back from suspension shop it failed again dropped 30mm cant believe it they rekon their got another spring they will fit tomorrow. I think it's amazing you spend a couple of grand to beef your suspension up and it fails twice and it's not like there a backyard mechanic there a reputable suspension shop.
I have 32's under my rig. The rim I have has an offset of -12mm. You can see from the pic that look down the side of the car that the wheel sticks out. Looks tough I think. But on the front it can cause rubbing. I have managed to fix this through some cutting of the guards and heat shrinking of the iner moulds. You will also have to cut the flares a bit but if you do it right you won't see it from the outside.
I did all of th cutting. It nly requires a litttle bit. As for the heat shrinking Fourbys in QLD did it but all you neeed is a heat gun to do it. Not hard.
