Guys,

Seeing I worked this out today, I thought I would post it up because it is handy to know. Pinouts are based on looking at the front side of the plug that clips into the radio with the clip "XX"in the diagram facing up.
Code: Select all
-------------XX--------------
1    3            7    9
2    4   5    6   8   10
-----------------------------

 1 = Right Front Speaker + (White)
 2 = Right Front Speaker - (Blue)
 3 = Left Front Speaker + (Pink)
 4 = Right Front Speaker - (Purple)
 5 = Earth (Brown)
 6 = No Connnection
 7 = + 12 Volt Accessory (Grey)
 8 = No Connnection
 9 = +12 Volt Battery (Blue/Yelow Stripe)
10 = +12 Volts Dash Lights (Green)

The small connector facing the same way looks like this:
Code: Select all
---------XX---------
1   3    4    5
2             6
--------------------
1 = Right Rear Speaker + (Red)
2 = Right Rear Speaker - (White)
3 = No Connection
4 = No Connection
5 = Left Rear Speaker + (Black)
6 = Left Rear Speaker - (Yellow)

Note that I did not test the Rear speakers as my Rig is a SR that does not have them and I am not bothering with Rears when I get my Amp in.

Jack, I have not pulled the rear doors apart but it is my understanding the speaker wires are there. I got some speaker spacers off eBay in the US. A lot of people replace the front speakers and put them in the rear.

So Rod.. I need to wire a constant power to my unit so when the truck is turned off the unit stays on.. the

7 = + 12 Volt Accessory (Grey)

is that a signal wire ? eg, when it goes dead the unit shuts off ? I'd assume so looking at the other wires.. so ill break a wire a switch Acc / +12 to it so i can choose power source..

Cheers !
Steve

I just installed new speakers into my hilux. What a job. Was a massive effort.

Somehow I have upset the factory rear view camera. When you go right up close to the rear view camera, it captures your movements, walk away and it freezes. As for an image when your in the cab just reversing, I get a grey screen unless as I say, you wave you hand around it up close.

Any ideas what wire I need to look at or does this sound like a warranty job?

Any ideas what pin position video input for a reversing camera would be?

thanks for the time saving info! is it better to buy small pin connectors to plug into existing toyota plugs, or just cut off old plug and solder old wires to my new head unit leads?

Gday to everyone just joined and pick up a new dual cab sr5 in a week can't wait..
Anyway just looking at the posts about the steering wheel controls, chances are that they work of a clock spring which is generally a 2 wire sometimes 3 system which communicates between ur head unit and steering wheel.

I recently sold my lancer which I installed a pioneer avid unit in, I had to get a steering control interface from PAC audio which was around 2 hungee...pending on what brand head unit depends on which interface you purchase ( different brands have different frequencies) As far as which wire go back to the clock spring( assuming it does). Is pretty hard to tell without a wiring diagram. Which I will probably be needing in a few weeks if anyone has.

you can buy a plug from autobarn for around 20$ just plug and play for the headunits no messing with wires. but for amping the speakers this will be very handy thank you!.

as for the rears so there are wiring in the rear for them? i shall put the stocks in he rear when i upgrade
